Oh well, it was worth the try....

I've come to the conclusion that the Fox-body P/S/ rack is going to have to come off the 'Bu. The tierod angles are off just enough that the car's turning radius sucks(too great). Luckily I kept all the other parts and didn't damage anything when I took the stuff off. I will, however, need to replace the spindles as I had to drill out the taper for the MustangII tie rods.

Weeeeeeeee!

So, I got the new clutch in the 'Bu and drove it home. 400+ hp through 2-chamber Flowmasters is a sound I've missed so dearly. I loved driving it home. The day went very well. The trans/clutch went in well. The hyd clutch release bleed out painlessly. The Hawk HP Plus pads I installed on the rear seated in wonderfuly and they work SWEET! The hand brake is back in action! The bad part is that there can be NO abuse for the first 500 miles. No sidesteppin' the clutch, no heavy throttle use...... It's gonna be a long few weeks. I'm also going to have to add a u-joint to the steering shaft, because it has some rather weird behavior because the angles are so extreme. I new when I installed it that there would be a high probability that I would need to install another u-joint. Oh well, that's the way it goes. The Fox-body R/P was an amazing upgrade. the Steering is soo "RIGHT NOW"! When you move the wheel. The response is immediate! It's going to take a little time to get used to. It's that much better.

Finally, My Clutch!.....

I got my clutch today! It's a monster-bomb unit(my name for it, not theirs) from Clutch Dynamics. It's going to be installed tomorrow and I will start driving it every day with the goal of logging 500 mi as soon as possible. I can't wait! They ended up using a Ram #401 pressure plate and their disc. The Ram plate is good, because it's rebuildable. The disc is a solid hub, four pad disc. This is the same set-up from them I killed last summer. I loved the feel and was suprised how little it chattered on the street. Check it out.....

Funimation adds Spice and Wolf II !!!!!!

This is truly great news. An awesome show. I'm really looking forward to this one as much as I did the first season! I'm confident this dub will be as good. Funimation is the saviors of the anime market. On a somewhat related note, The company that's releasing ToraDora is only giving us a sub. How lame, this is how they're going to enter the anime market? By releasing one of the biggest shows from Japan in recent years as a sub only release. How disapointing...... I had a thought while driving to work today......

On the way to work today, I found myself behind a Toyota Matrix. How much do you want to bet that there's someone out there driving one of these cars with a vanity plate that reads "Neo" or "Morpheus" or something like that......

Well, so far anyways....... Tonite I killed in my Motor Maint. final. We had two days to do a written and a practical exams. I needed two hours to do both. You could say I was on fire. I did have to guess on a couple of the written questions, but I nailed the practical. It was easy, I just followed my training and the notes I took.

Sounds like I may be able to get my clutch by this weekend. Which means I still have a chance of getting it broken in before the first event......

For the second time in two days I had no deliveries in the afternoon. It was soo boring it was almost painful. 'Seems like time stands still during these times.

(Big sigh....) Crap.

As the start of the 2010 motorsports season draws near for me, my car sits at my brothers with the trans sitting where the back seat used to be. That's correct! Still no clutch...... Puting 500 mi on it would've been no problem if I could have gotten it in this weekend. Tomorrow is wendsday and the outlook is bleak. April 25th is a drift test and tune day. No comp, no B.S., just practice. I REALLY need to hit this day, but I need to have the clutch broken in. See my quandry?....... I've told the clutch builder that I'm very short on time and think we're close to getting it figured out, but more than likely, not this weekend. Fuck. So, instead of installing a new clutch, I'm probably going to cut some weight out of the car. I'm going to cut out the innner structure from the hood and trunk, as well as the side impact beams from the doors. I'm also going to chuck up the hole saws and swiss chesse anything I can inside the car as well. There's this racing metafore, " Sweat the ounces and the pounds will follow. I figure I took 20 lbs. off the nose of the car, forward of the front wheels, with the P/S rack install so why not keep going? It's said that losing a 100 lbs of weight is like picking up 10 hp.

Shigoto ga suki ja nai.........

Just so you know, that means "I don't like my job". I finished the P/S rack install on the 'Bu yesterday. I only had to break this brass fitting once to modify the hardline on it and the toe-in looks to be pretty damn close, but I'll double check it soon to be sure. However, the u-joint connecting to steering shaft to the rack has a lot of angle and the steering by hand feels a bit odd. When I have the car running I'll have to see if it's any better, otherwise I'll have to add a third joint to it, which makes things a whole lot more complicated.

April 25th is the first Drift Test and Tune @ Autocity. I still have no clutch. If I'm to get this thing broken-in in time for this event, I'm going to have to have something in it by next weekend. The clutch builder wants me to call him monday, so I'm going to offer the idea of me buying a cover assm. from Jegs or Summit and robbing the pressure ring out of it. We shall see.......

Hooray! Three weeks of motor maint. class left! Only two if I can do both the practical and written on the same day. Code class is still boring as hell. Chewing gum seemed to help keep me awake last week........

It's no secret that kids creep me out. Well, at least through12 yrs old or so. Infants being the worst. I can't tell you why. They just always have. It's not any one kid, it's all of them. I feel bad for saying this, but even my niece and nephew, and my buddies kid. I'm just really uncomfortable around them. It's not the kids fault I'm soo facking weird, but that's the way it is. Anyways, I was watching some MTV show called "16 and pregnant" (I think that's what it's called....) and the "Dee-Dee-Dee" couple(Carlos Mencia reference...) of the episode were in the delivery room giving birth. Right before the kid came out, I had this visual of the father seeing his kid coming out of a vagina that, now STRETCHED WAY OUT, was nine months prior nice and snug. The visual was him seeing his GF's poon all stretched out and thinking to himself, "Well, so much for that....". Guess you had to be there..... Sorry, back on track here. So the kids pops out and the nurses, doctor, whomever holds it up. Everyone was smiling and happy, all joyous for the new life........ I was horrified at the sight of this thing, all greasy and slimmy. I've seen less disgusting shit in a slasher flick. There was nothing appealing about this at all. On a related note, I saw a woman at the gas station earlier this week, who was a few months pregnant and thought" Eww, Ick!". Kids and pregnancy? Fuck, whatever! You can keep that crap. I don't need it, don't want it.

Edit: I need to clarify in case somebody actually reads this stuff. The few kids I have exposure to are all good kids. There's nothing wrong with the kids, they've done nothing to me, I'm just really uncomfortable around them. Truth be known, I hope none of these people ever read this, because I'm sure there will be some sort of misunderstanding because of it. You know how people are about their kids.....
